About me
Shirley J. Williams serves as the Advisor of Integrated School & Community Wellness and Charter Oversight for the Butte County Office of Education. With over 33 years in education, she has held roles as an elementary teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, principal, director, and advisor at the school, district, and county levels.
Her career has been shaped by work in high-poverty schools with large gang populations, as well as expertise in bilingual education, curriculum and instruction, charter oversight, and social-emotional learning. This breadth of experience fuels her unwavering commitment to ensuring that every student has access to equitable and supportive learning environments.
Shirley and her husband, Jaime, live with their German Shepherd, Ruby, and their mischievous cat, Beau. Their greatest joy, however, comes from being grandparents to Hazel, Lincoln, and Cody!
